Message Clarity Score
Who takes it: a founder whose website sounds nice but converts nobody.
Nobody wakes up thinking “I need a copywriter.” They wake up thinking “why do people not get what we do?” This scorecard turns that vague frustration into a number and a diagnosis — and the diagnosis is the service you sell.

The 10 questions
- Can you say what your business does in one sentence — without buzzwords?
- Read your homepage headline. Does it say what you do, or just sound nice?
- Could a customer tell you apart from your two closest competitors by words alone?
- Do you use the words your customers use — or industry insider language?
- When you write, do you picture one specific person — or everyone?
- Is your About page mostly about you, or about the customer?
- When you explain what you do, do people get it the first time?
- Do your website, social, and emails sound like the same person wrote them?
- Does every page tell the reader exactly what to do next?
- Are the inquiries you get from the right kind of client?
What their score tells them
0–44 · Costing you sales: “People can’t buy what they don’t understand.”
45–74 · Clear-ish, not compelling: “People get what you do. They just don’t feel it yet.”
75–100 · Sharp and selling: “Your message is doing real work for you.”
Make it yours
- Swap “message review” for your actual entry offer — audit, VIP day, or discovery call.
- If you specialize in email, web, or launches, angle the last few questions toward it.
- Strategists: add a positioning question, like “Could you name your category in three words?”
- Keep the plain-English tone — the scorecard itself demonstrates the thing you’re selling.
